BISSELL Pro Cycling Team is proud to announce that Nicolai Brochner (DEN) will be joining the team for the upcoming inaugural edition of the Tour of Alberta. Nicolai has had an outstanding season riding for the BISSELL elite team, BISSELL-ABG-GIANT, where he won the best young rider jersey at the Nature Valley Grand Prix and had three top ten finishes. Other notable 2013 results include a top ten stage at Joe Martin and 7th at Tour de Grove. Nicolai returned to his native Denmark earlier this month to race with the national Danish Team in the Tour of Denmark. Manager Glen Mitchell is looking forward to having the sprinter join the squad for the Tour of Alberta. “We are excited about giving Nicolai the opportunity to race alongside the best riders in North America and the world in the Tour of Alberta. BISSELL has put together a good squad for what is expected to be a fast tour with multiple stages set to be sprint finishes.”
Brochner will be joining BISSELL teammates Frank Pipp, Jason McCartney, Andrew Dahlheim, Tommy Nankervis, Jeremy Vennell, Carter Jones, and Kirk Carlsen. The six day tours is scheduled from September 3-8 and will cover more than 800 kilometers throughout the province of Alberta. The team faces off against the best cyclists including sprinter phenom, Pater Sagan (Cannondale), who has won the best sprinters jersey at this year’s Tour de France, Tour of California, and most recently the USA Pro Challenge. 2011 Tour de France winner, Cadel Evens (BMC) will also be taking the start at the Tour of Alberta.
The BISSELL Team is honored to be a part of the Tour of Alberta, Canada’s first major international professional stage race.
