pedal p/b Cannondale Development Team (The Team) is pleased to announce its squad for the 2013 season.
Created by a group of experienced elite racers, The Team’s specific goal is to provide an unparalleled support structure for the development of future elite cyclists here in Colorado.
pedal p/b Cannondale Development Team, based in Denver, will provide the support network to help its u26 riders (cyclists aged 18-26) to continue to improve their racing abilities, market their qualities as individuals and results as racers, develop connections in the industry, and understand how to represent sponsors at the highest level. The Team is structured with a constant core of elite racers that will remain to support u26 riders that join the team, develop as racers and then move on to professional teams.
The Team Roster for 2013 is:
Matthew Allen, brings his lead-out strength and coaching to the team. Not only helping with in race tactics, he is coaching a few of the u26 riders. Eric Bennett, brings the most experience to the team. Racing 5 years professional, he will be able to guide the team to many victories. Michael Catterall, will take on a large role of riding break-aways. He is also the team Captain. Lucas Elms, the youngest rider on the team will be one for the climbs and hilly road races. Michael Giem, the team’s sprinter will be looking for bunch finishes as well as trying to find the break-away. Danny Hiller, brings experience from the Slipstream Development team. He will be one to watch in races that require a lot of power. Taylor Jung, with a cyclocross background, Taylor isn’t afraid of getting the team established for a lead-out. Seth Mincks, brings international race experience to the table. He will also be one for the break-aways. Tyler Nabours, will bring his climbing abilities to the team. He will be a rider to watch in 2013.
The Team’s race plans include the local Colorado race scene as well as races outside of Colorado including Tulsa Tough, Tour of America’s Dairyland, USA Cycling Amateur National Championships, and the Cascade Cycling Classic.

Colorado has a long history of nurturing young talent through various junior development programs. Ultimately, a number of these young Colorado cyclists end up finding success through national development squads and then move on to domestic or Pro Tour professional teams. Once graduating from the Colorado junior program, the jump to a national level development program can be a long and difficult road. A significant gap exists between the current junior development programs and Colorado cyclists aged 18-26 who have the talent and desire to pursue this path.
