Pure Energy Cycling is proud to announce the launch of Fearless Femme presented by Pure Energy Cycling-Vie13, an elite women’s race team based out of Lambertville, NJ. Co-title sponsor, Vie13 Kustom Apparel, has united forces to support the endeavor with custom cycling kits and director sportif functions. Fearless Femme’s race charter is aimed directly at criterium events within the NCC (National Criterium Calendar) and USA Crits Calendar. While the team is new and consisting of less than 6 members, the assembly of racers may perhaps be the most experienced and decorated within the women’s field, including 2 current Criterium National Champions from 2 different countries!
With high-dollar sponsors reticent to invest in cycling and women’s cycling struggling for equality, the owners of Pure Energy Cycling and Vie13 Kustom Apparel brainstormed a simple plan to unite small business and private sponsors to “invest in the future of competitive cycling” with a grassroots and sustainable philosophy. Supporting a small number of quality riders, strategically selecting races, and providing real-time marketing metrics back to the sponsors ensures that both the racers and sponsors earn victories and visual presence that inspires a new interest in cycling, competing in cycling, or investing in cycling. “Our giving back is the asset we provide to the cycling community, fans and sponsors. Everyone wants to be part of positive energy – including us!” as articulated by Kacey Manderfield-Lloyd.
About the Team
Each member of Fearless Femme is not only a professional within the cycling ranks, but they are professionals in their respective careers. Theresa Cliff-Ryan is the returning and 2-time Women’s US Criterium National champion, and majority owner of Vie13 Kustom Apparel. In addition, she is an aspiring speed skater with focused ambitions for the 2014 Winter Olympics. Dr. Kimberly Wells is fresh off winning the Australian Women’s Criterium National Championship! Kimberly is a medical doctor in Australia, balancing time with training and racing, while devoting critical hours in the emergency room. Kimberly has taken a leave of absence to compete in the United States. Kelly Fisher-Goodwin is returning to professional racing after a year retirement to start a family. Kelly is a previous winner of the USA Crits, BC and US Superweek! While being a full time mother, Kelly maintains a strict training program with intentions of being the “ultimate lead-out!” Kacey Manderfield-Lloyd is a former U-25 USA Crits leader and original winner of the acclaimed Red Hook Criterium. Kacey is now a full time consultant with a branding firm in Philadelphia. Kate Veronneau is a former collegiate basketball star for Brown University and current marketing director for Thompson Bicycle Tours! Kate took 2nd at the Iron Hill Crit in her “comeback year”, while leaving a respectful legacy on the track, as well. Fearless Femme’s director sportif is Gary Ryan, whom is a former Australian track National Champion and has worked with numerous track World Champions, National Champions, and UCI trade teams. He brings a wealth of tactical insight and experience to the abbreviated team. “I could not be happier being a part of this team and help direct these new trailblazing role models” is the sentiment that Gary Ryan passionately echoes. The team’s professionalism, passion, and grit are what define their fearless and spirited approach to racing despite the size and odds.
