The Presbyterian Hospital Invitational Criterium in Charlotte, is one of the biggest crits of the year, with ten years of history and a lot of great champions. Add in a big prize purse and a huge vocal crowd, and it becomes a bit more stressful and has everyone in the race motivated to do well.
As with every criterium, we had our team meeting and we had our plan going into the race. We were there to win the race, so we tried to cover all bases in order to do that. There were a lot of new teams and new riders, Jamis and SmartStop had been riding well the past few weeks, and there were plenty of sprinters to keep an eye on.
